In which I'm not a hundred percent positive. But I've watched it three times now and it does get better with each viewing.

First time around, the episode felt … off to me, like the cast wasn’t back in the game yet. The hair dresser that dyed Carson’s hair pitch black, also got to Zelenka apparently, turning him ten years younger. Rodney was uncharacteristically subdued and Sheppard’s concern for Keller because she missed one night of sleep was slightly OOC.

Then there is Carson. I’m probably the only one, but I'm not all that happy that he is back. His return is far-fetched, totally negates the impact of Sunday and throws the team dynamics out of whack (Carson being Rodney’s best friend ever) and frankly, I’m not that taken with Paul McGillion’s acting skills. His one expression of wooby gets old very fast.

Why couldn’t Carter go back to Earth because of commitments at SGC or for family reasons? Why make it appear she was removed from command, because she wasn’t following protocol? If that is the case, Sheppard should have been yanked back to Earth and demoted to Captain two years ago. It makes for an inconsistent background story when there no need for it.

And am I the only one who had a hard time following all that delicious Shep whump? The restraints, the injection, the cardiac arrest, everything was going so fast the actors barely had time to react (and seriously Carson, you inject your patient with an antidote that might kill him within the next three minutes and you wander off? wth). And what happened at the end? Did Sheppard get stabbed by a hive tendril that he ended up in white shrubs again? I didn’t see anything! He’s clutching … something and the camera zooms in on his face. Darn!

And lastly, I so do not want Rodney/Jennifer romance. Ronon/Jennifer, now that I see and wholeheartedly agree with, Rodney/Jennifer, not at all.

Squeeeeeees:

Woolsey’s arrival. Everybody except Rodney stands at attention (even Sheppard straightens up somewhat) and Sheppard throws McKay a pointed look and he gets up as well with a huff and sigh. I love their silent communication.

The Senior Staff meeting around the new conference table, which looks like the bottom of a coffin. First of all, eeeeeee!!, Ronon is senior staff (I guess Lorne is still out of commission with a broken leg). Teyla was awesome and to the point; she is not going to let the IOA run over her people. Go Teyla! Rodney showed his little face of snark and Sheppard did the Pressed Lips and Sarcastic Eyebrows.

Rodney’s sparkly curtains. And he has a garden? This is the first time I see plants outside a window. Yay.

Sheppard’s quarters. His Johnny Carson poster must have seen every wall by now, he keeps moving it around. And the golf clubs. Oh, and the guard outside Sheppard’s door! Woolsey is learning fast. *g*

I like Woolsey, that’s a big plus. When John baits him with a "That is not exactly by the book" and Woolsey deadpans "Don’t get used to it" I lolled.

Moments copied straight out of fanfic, like Rodney’s Ronon’s crushed larynx and Rodney talking to Stasis!Carson.

Oh, and I liked Woolsey and Sheppard’s conversation at the end. Although it looks like Woolsey is going to be even more of a push over than Carter of Weir were, when it comes to Sheppard's crazy schemes (and he's again Military Commander, so no stopping him), so whatever the IOA's intentions were? It's not going to work.

Oh wow, now that was entertaining! I just finished Kadath's commentary on Twilight, and had enough moments of outright laughter for family members to poke their heads in the door and look at me weird. My only sadness was that they ended at chapter 11 ;__;

Twilight....well, it seems to be *exaclty* what I first figured it as. A Mary Sue who meets the ZOMGWTFBBQGORGEOUS vampire and, despite being so painfully ordinary, captures his heart blah blah blah. Fanfiction.net has thousands of identical stories and none of them got movie deals. lol, oh well, I'll hide safely under my bed and wait for the fad to pass...

Major Sheppard equals No Ronon and I like Ronon.

I know, the lack of Ronon is a downside to a story set season one. In its defense though, I don't think Ronon would have fit well in this book.

But I will tempt you with the fact that there's definitely little in the "Carson as McKay's best friend" bit. In fact, I believe there is a line of McKay yelling "My God Carson, get off your fat ass and do something!" in response to John being in trouble. Now is that something you yell at a "Best Friend"? I think not *snirk*. :D(and that is the only spoilery line I offer lol)
