Wow.
Insightful, attentive, giving us fans an explanation without getting all sarcastic. Sure makes a nice change from that godawful Q&A with Gero the other day. *is impressed*
It doesn't change the fact that I still don't like the McKeller pairing, I still wish the writers had gone for Ronon/Keller, I still much rather see Sheppard and McKay's friendship explored than Rodney and Keller having lunch and I still resent the fact that after five years of team adventures, we get an unpopular canon ship pasted to the end of the show. But whining about it isn't going to help and I'll shut up now.
Recurring gay character... Probably Lorne, which makes Lorne/Parrish CANON. Haha.
5x12 Outsiders
Oct. 19th, 2008 11:12 pmC'mon flist, where are the posts? it wasn't that bad. Quite enjoyable actually.
( Some squee, some whining and screencaps )
I swear I did not skip the parts where he's animated and expressive. There aren't any.

SGA quote meme!
Sep. 19th, 2008 01:41 amSHEPPARD: Look, what you people do with your C4 is none of our business. We just need food. And as far as your little secret down here goes ... well err ... *looks at McKay*
MCKAY: We say ... "What giant underground bunker?".

S05x07 Whispers
Sep. 6th, 2008 09:11 pmWell ok. I knew I wasn't going to like it much, what with no Rodney, no Teyla, no Ronon and Joe Mallozzi writing it, but I wanted to like it. It's SGA after all. It has John Sheppard.
I'm going to gloss over the constant splitting up "to cover more ground" and running away from main group and protection smack into danger, because that is a must-do in horror. No. What I really didn't like, was:
So for now, Whispers is at the bottom of the S5 heap, where I hope it will stay. If this is the last season, I want all awesome episodes.

held it in long enough...
Aug. 23rd, 2008 12:55 amThe trade magazine also reported that the show will be set on board a previously unmanned ship called the Destiny, and will involve more space-based action than its predecessors. "Unable to return to Earth, the crew must fend for themselves aboard the ship, which has a preprogrammed mission taking them to the far reaches of the universe," the magazine said.
...
The new series will also be aimed at a slightly younger audience, SCI FI president Dave Howe said.
To toss SGA and then replace it with yet another generic SciFi show about a group of people on a freaking space ship on a mission-with-no-end, like Farscape, like Firefly, like Startrek One thru Gazillion, like Galactica, like Red Dwarf, like every Tom, Dick and Harry SciFi show that has ever been aired! Unbelievable.
Listen, producers, you had something with SGA! When you put your teenage cast on board of a space ship, the only thing your audience gets is badly lit corridors, meeting rooms and a glimpse of black, cheerless deep space through tiny little windows! Which might make for cost effective sets, but it is CRAP to look at!
I want stained glass windows! I want ocean, I want a beautiful city, I want whales, I want off world visits! I WANT MY TEAM!
Aaaarrrggghghgh.
no season 6
Aug. 21st, 2008 08:58 pmI was sort of expecting it after Joe Mallozzi's not-so-subtle hints, but it still comes as a shock. I feel bad for the cast; David Hewlett called the high ratings for Search & Rescue fuel for season 6, so he and the rest of the cast must have really hoped for one more season.
Man, I'm depressed!
This was actually going to be a happy post telling y'all about my wonderful week in Var and the Cote d'Azur, but since MGM and Joe M. killed my mood and I don't have photos yet, I'll make the post next week. It was glorious though: six days of beautiful weather, great food and no internet.
Oh, show. *sigh*
ETA: somewhat spoilery for S5.

The card simply screams Rodney! I love it!
Oh boooooooys!!! *hearts them both*
(ETA: that I got the card in time for Valentine, but it took me this long to figure out how to post it. Digitally challenged ain't no picnic.)
4x16 SGA Trio
Feb. 9th, 2008 02:34 pmDarn, darn, darn, I missed it (which doesn't stop me from reading every review and tagfic, so no worries about spoilering me, go ahead, no shame here). But really, I'm gonna resort to illegal means, I don't think I can wait till Friday.

I watched it! And I loved it! LOVED IT! Hewlett, you're awesome. You are! And Gero, you are too! *loves*
SGA 4x11 Be all my sins remembered
Jan. 7th, 2008 01:06 amKind of overkill really, but hey..
I was a bit apprehensive when I saw the promo shots - it seemed like they were going to squeeze an impossible amount of characters and action into 45 minutes (which they did), but they pulled it off nicely in my opinion.

You'd think my two SGA buddies (who have watched all ten seasons of SG-1 whereas I haven't seen a single episode) would have told me Sheppard has a cameo on S10x3 The Pegasus Galaxy. Hello? Crush?
The McShep Awards. I didn't get much further than browsing through the art and the fanvid catagories, but wow, I love this fandom. Such talent. Go check it out.

SGA 4.09 Miller's Crossing
Dec. 3rd, 2007 03:57 amSGA 4.07 Missing
Nov. 10th, 2007 04:41 pmAside from the total lack of Sheppard and McKay (I rewatched their scenes a couple of times to even it out a little - “Shane!”), this episode didn’t suck nearly as bad as
![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Besides, we all know this episode was written to explain Teyla’s pregnancy. (just move your mouse over the text. I'm fed up with LJ-cut)
So, on to more shallow things. Season 4 uniforms and what were they thinking. Am I the only person in SGA fandom who’s unhappy with the way “they” (the wardrobe pod people) are dressing Sheppard this season?
This, people, is HOT.
This is not.
And in Tabula Rasa I was struck by how small he looked between those bulky marines with their crew cuts and tac vests (and shouldn't those marines at least acknowledge their CO when he steps in the room? They completely ignored him). It's time he pulls some rank.
