In which I'm not a hundred percent positive. But I've watched it three times now and it does get better with each viewing.

First time around, the episode felt … off to me, like the cast wasn’t back in the game yet. The hair dresser that dyed Carson’s hair pitch black, also got to Zelenka apparently, turning him ten years younger. Rodney was uncharacteristically subdued and Sheppard’s concern for Keller because she missed one night of sleep was slightly OOC.

Then there is Carson. I’m probably the only one, but I'm not all that happy that he is back. His return is far-fetched, totally negates the impact of Sunday and throws the team dynamics out of whack (Carson being Rodney’s best friend ever) and frankly, I’m not that taken with Paul McGillion’s acting skills. His one expression of wooby gets old very fast.

Why couldn’t Carter go back to Earth because of commitments at SGC or for family reasons? Why make it appear she was removed from command, because she wasn’t following protocol? If that is the case, Sheppard should have been yanked back to Earth and demoted to Captain two years ago. It makes for an inconsistent background story when there no need for it.

And am I the only one who had a hard time following all that delicious Shep whump? The restraints, the injection, the cardiac arrest, everything was going so fast the actors barely had time to react (and seriously Carson, you inject your patient with an antidote that might kill him within the next three minutes and you wander off? wth). And what happened at the end? Did Sheppard get stabbed by a hive tendril that he ended up in white shrubs again? I didn’t see anything! He’s clutching … something and the camera zooms in on his face. Darn!

And lastly, I so do not want Rodney/Jennifer romance. Ronon/Jennifer, now that I see and wholeheartedly agree with, Rodney/Jennifer, not at all.

Squeeeeeees:

Woolsey’s arrival. Everybody except Rodney stands at attention (even Sheppard straightens up somewhat) and Sheppard throws McKay a pointed look and he gets up as well with a huff and sigh. I love their silent communication.

The Senior Staff meeting around the new conference table, which looks like the bottom of a coffin. First of all, eeeeeee!!, Ronon is senior staff (I guess Lorne is still out of commission with a broken leg). Teyla was awesome and to the point; she is not going to let the IOA run over her people. Go Teyla! Rodney showed his little face of snark and Sheppard did the Pressed Lips and Sarcastic Eyebrows.

Rodney’s sparkly curtains. And he has a garden? This is the first time I see plants outside a window. Yay.

Sheppard’s quarters. His Johnny Carson poster must have seen every wall by now, he keeps moving it around. And the golf clubs. Oh, and the guard outside Sheppard’s door! Woolsey is learning fast. *g*

I like Woolsey, that’s a big plus. When John baits him with a "That is not exactly by the book" and Woolsey deadpans "Don’t get used to it" I lolled.

Moments copied straight out of fanfic, like Rodney’s Ronon’s crushed larynx and Rodney talking to Stasis!Carson.

Oh, and I liked Woolsey and Sheppard’s conversation at the end. Although it looks like Woolsey is going to be even more of a push over than Carter of Weir were, when it comes to Sheppard's crazy schemes (and he's again Military Commander, so no stopping him), so whatever the IOA's intentions were? It's not going to work.

yeah, Carson's hair was practically its own character...a very bad character that you wish would go away D:

I have to add one more thing that I even forgot to say in my own entry. John's flying the jumper into the building! Not only do I mentally praise the effects department on that scene (I think I've listened to too many commentaries lol, the graphics are really standing out to me now)
But also, I'm in love with pilot!John. They just don't show the skills anymore! It's falling by the wayside same as the ATA gene goodness. But that was just flat out a *damn* good show of piloting prowess.

Yeah! Forgot the Pilot!John goodness! Oh, it must have broken his heart to crash one of his babies through the wall of that tower, it's not like he has an endless supply of them. *hopes Zelenka can fix*

And the ATA gene! That's why I liked Travelers so much; perfect the way Sheppard lovingly stroked that ship to life. *g*

I'm sure they can fix it. After all, it wasn't the first time he took one through an Atlantis wall. Plus I think the crash on the planet with the prisoner island did worse damage....of course that jumper did crash into the ocean and sink to a watery grave it's first outing out after being repaired.... *nervous laugh*

lol, the ATA usage was definitely a highlight of Travelers. I don't know if you've read the SGA novel "Reliquary" before, but if you haven't, it's full of ATA goodness.

You know,I've looked in every bookstore for SGA novels, but found zilch. Battlestar Galactica, Startrek, even Quantum Leap, but no SGA. I was thinking of ordering it on Amazon. It gets good reviews, but erm, so does Twilight, so is it as good as they say it is? :)

Twilight? You mean the vampire book? lol, I have no idea when, but all of a sudden it seemed like that book came from somewhere between left field and mars and suddenly everyone loved it. I haven't read it... and doubt I ever will.

But Reliquary, to me, is really enjoyable. It's a little odd, and some of the concepts with the ATA gene seem a little more farfetched than even fanfics have come up with. I actually kind of wondered why TPTB cleared it to be published for that very reason. The book starts a little slow, but midway through it takes a turn for the wtf. Pretty soon it boils down to Sheppard and McKay stuck alone together with healthy doses of ATA goodness, h/c, whump, snark....kind of a nicely bound, easy to carry fanfiction when you get down to it :D

For only 8 bucks it's well worth it. I've read it twice, and it definitely is better the second time through when you can see the subtle hints at the overall story early on. But the story definitely shines brightest in the second half.

XD

Oh wow, now that was entertaining! I just finished Kadath's commentary on Twilight, and had enough moments of outright laughter for family members to poke their heads in the door and look at me weird. My only sadness was that they ended at chapter 11 ;__;

Twilight....well, it seems to be *exaclty* what I first figured it as. A Mary Sue who meets the ZOMGWTFBBQGORGEOUS vampire and, despite being so painfully ordinary, captures his heart blah blah blah. Fanfiction.net has thousands of identical stories and none of them got movie deals. lol, oh well, I'll hide safely under my bed and wait for the fad to pass...

Major Sheppard equals No Ronon and I like Ronon.

I know, the lack of Ronon is a downside to a story set season one. In its defense though, I don't think Ronon would have fit well in this book.

But I will tempt you with the fact that there's definitely little in the "Carson as McKay's best friend" bit. In fact, I believe there is a line of McKay yelling "My God Carson, get off your fat ass and do something!" in response to John being in trouble. Now is that something you yell at a "Best Friend"? I think not *snirk*. :D(and that is the only spoilery line I offer lol)
