Introduction of The Travelers. And wow.
Traveler leader Larrin:
Kidnaps Sheppard. Locks him up. Has her goons beat him while he’s tied up, forcibly takes a blood sample to get his ATA gene, threatens to blow him into space if he doesn’t fly her newly found Ancient battle ship to god knows where, locks him up again, oh, did I mention the executed threat with radiation poisoning? Tries to shoot him, STUNS him after he saves her life and then locks him up again.
Lt. Col. Sheppard:
gets very pragmatic and inventive when he gets treated like that (looking extremely hot in the process), so:
He incapacitates her goons by not turning on the inertial dampers of the ship when taking off, takes control of the ship, flies it into hyperspace, alerts half the galaxy including the Wraith to his position with a morse SOS in the hopes that Rodney picks it up, locks Larrin out of the control room, blows up the hive ship, kills the wraith that have slipped on board, saves Larrin’s ungrateful hide twice, manages to strike up a grudging alliance and is set free.
Musings while all of the above was going on:
Why is Rodney wearing a black t-shirt and Sheppard … not? (Then again, maybe Rodney is wearing John’s black t-shirt, which gives me all sorts of happy thoughts about their morning ritual and how Rodney complains how John was supposed to do laundry and why didn’t he, he knew Rodney was out of shirts, and John says, “Just take one of mine.” And Rodney grumps, “You know black is not my color.” And John pulls a shirt out of his stack and says, “Quit whining. And don’t get it all stretched and out of shape.” And Rodney pulls the shirt out of John’s hands and snaps, “Sheppard, as soon as you get back from that resupply mission this afternoon, you are starting a blue load!” “Oh, I don’t think so, seeing as I did the last one and –“ . Hm.. *happy again*).
Sheppard behind bars.
OMG. Somebody make me an icon.
Oh, ew, the kiss. Yeah, I know, ever since reading Kassrachel's fic Symptomology I've learned that high risk situations lead to General Arousal syndrome and this is Sheppard’s first piece of action since what, The Tower? But still. No kissing John, unless you’re turning into a bug and becoming all primal. It doesn’t fit my universe.
Where the heck is Carter? Her second-in-command is missing and what? Nothing? McKay is in charge?
How awesome Fandom rules. Rodney’s last line was lifted almost word for word from a fanfic (and I can’t tell you which one, seeing as how I’m too stupid to properly bookmark, so I cannot prove my point, but it was).
Yay.
*presses play a second time*
Oh, wait, the fic. Kassrachel's Symptomology. (McShep)
