When you see this, post a quote from Stargate: Atlantis in your journal.

SHEPPARD: Look, what you people do with your C4 is none of our business. We just need food. And as far as your little secret down here goes ... well err ... *looks at McKay*

MCKAY: We say ... "What giant underground bunker?".

I knowwwwww. I will miss 'em so. :(

Did you see the casting sheet for SGU? Jewel Staite is too old for that show. Jewel. Staite. *sigh*

I did! Since it's going to be the only Stargate on TV next year (*stink eye to SciFi*), I've got some really big blinders on. The creators have a good track record so far, so I'm not dismissing it out of hand... but... I don't know. I'm conflicted on it.

It looks like we have Rodney 2.0 though, or more accurately, Rodney and John's bastard love child in the character of Eli. Of course, Teyla changed completely from her casting call sheet, so they might surprise us yet. *crosses fingers*

Eli sounds interesting (yay for social outcasts with acerbic sense of humor XD). The rest ... not so much. And I was completely turned off by Ron "Psycho" Stasiak's description: 20, all ethnicities (naturally). Marine. You don't want him mad at you. Lacks control over his temper in non combat situations. There must also be some moral center because otherwise he'd kill everyone around him. I mean WTH?? Would they let this guy run loose in Afghan villages?

Of course it irritated the heck out of me that only the poor girl and the psycho have an "all ethnicities" tag. Does that mean that the rest of the cast (utter genius, rich girl and "every teenage girl's fantasy") is white? The cast director had better tweak that a little (or maybe I'm reading too much into this, SGA buddy didn't notice until I pointed it out to him).

TPTB should have run the two shows simultaneously for one season. If SGU fails it's the end of Stargate. And it wouldn't have split their audience, with SGU they are aiming for a younger audience anyway. *grumbles*
